NextLeg

Privacy Policy

Effective 11 August 2026

The short version. NextLeg has no user accounts, no advertising and no analytics. We do not collect your name, e-mail address or location, and we have no way to identify you. Your settings stay on your device.

1. Who is responsible

NextLeg is an independent project operated by Oliwier Grzechnik, based in Poland. For anything related to this policy, write to contact@flynextleg.com.

2. What the app stores on your device

These settings are saved locally so the app remembers them between sessions. They are never transmitted to us and we cannot read them:

Deleting the app removes all of it.

3. What we do not collect

4. Services the app connects to

To show live information the app requests data from the services below. As with any internet request, the receiving service can see your IP address and the time of the request. We do not send them anything that identifies you.

ServiceWhyWhen
VATSIMWhich controllers are online, and aircraft positions for the radarAutomatically, while the app is open
Aviation weather servicesMETAR reports for departure and destinationWhen you open a flight
NextLeg catalogue serverDownloads the flight catalogueOn start and on refresh
SimBriefOpens a pre-filled flight plan formOnly when you tap the button
Flightradar24Opens the page for that flightOnly when you tap the button

The last two open in your browser and are then governed by their own privacy policies. If you enter a SimBrief username, it is sent to SimBrief so it can return your flight plan.

5. Server logs

Our catalogue and this website are hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web server, it records technical request logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability. These logs are kept for a short period by the hosting provider and are not used to build profiles.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

If NextLeg offers paid features, all payments are processed by Apple. We never see your card details, address or Apple ID. Apple provides us with aggregated sales reports that do not identify individual customers. Managing or cancelling a subscription is done in your Apple account settings.

7. Legal basis and your rights (GDPR)

Where we process data at all, it is limited to what is technically necessary to deliver the service you asked for, which is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

You have the right to request access to, correction of or erasure of any personal data concerning you, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych). Because we hold no user accounts, in most cases we will have no data to return — but write to us and we will confirm that in writing.

8. Children

NextLeg is a tool for flight simulator enthusiasts and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, regardless of age.

9. Data sources

Flight schedules come from AeroDataBox, airport data from OurAirports, aircraft registrations from the OpenSky Network, map outlines from Natural Earth, and live network and weather data from VATSIM. NextLeg is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by VATSIM, Navigraph, SimBrief, Flightradar24, any airline or any aircraft manufacturer.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the effective date above and, where the change is significant, note it in the app.

11. Contact

contact@flynextleg.com

12. Beta programme and newsletter sign-ups

The forms on the home page (“Try the beta” and “Get updates”) collect: for the beta — first name, last name, e-mail address and an optional message; for the newsletter — the e-mail address only. The controller of this data is the developer of NextLeg (contact details in section 11).

Purpose and legal basis: running the beta test programme (sending TestFlight invitations and messages about the beta) and, separately, sending product news and updates — both based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Consent is voluntary and you can withdraw it at any time by writing to contact@flynextleg.com — your entry will then be deleted.

The data is stored on our server hosted by Railway (a processor acting on our behalf), is not shared with anyone else and is not used for any other purpose. It is kept until you withdraw consent or the given programme ends. You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Poland: the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, PUODO).

Usunięcie aplikacji kasuje to wszystko.

3. Czego nie zbieramy

Jeśli podasz nazwę użytkownika SimBrief, zostanie ona wysłana do SimBriefa, żeby mógł zwrócić Twój plan lotu.

5. Dzienniki serwera

6. Zakupy i subskrypcje

7. Podstawa prawna i Twoje prawa (RODO)

9. Źródła danych

Rozkłady pochodzą z AeroDataBox, dane lotnisk z OurAirports, rejestracje samolotów z OpenSky Network, kontury map z Natural Earth, a dane o sieci i pogodzie z VATSIM.

11. Kontakt

contact@flynextleg.com

12. Zapisy do bety i newslettera

Formularze na stronie głównej („Try the beta” i „Get updates”) zbierają: przy becie — imię, nazwisko, adres e-mail i opcjonalną wiadomość; przy newsletterze — wyłącznie adres e-mail. Administratorem tych danych jest twórca aplikacji NextLeg (kontakt w sekcji 11).

Cel i podstawa prawna: prowadzenie programu testów beta (wysyłka zaproszeń TestFlight i wiadomości dotyczących bety) oraz — osobno — wysyłka nowości i informacji o postępach prac. 6 ust. 1 lit. a RODO).

Przechowujemy je do wycofania zgody albo zakończenia danego programu. Masz prawo dostępu do danych, ich sprostowania i usunięcia, ograniczenia przetwarzania oraz skargi do Prezesa UODO.

13. The NextLeg iOS app

The app works without any account. To deliver push notifications, the app sends to our server (hosted on Railway, acting as our processor): your device push token, the callsign you choose to track, your list of watched airports, your alert settings and interface language. This data is used solely to deliver the notifications you requested. Tracking data is removed when you stop tracking or after 24 hours of inactivity; the watchlist is stored until you clear it. Uninstalling the app invalidates the push token. The app also contacts public aviation data services (VATSIM network data, METAR weather); those requests are made directly and are subject to those services’ terms. The app contains no ads, no analytics and no trackers. Questions: contact@flynextleg.com.
